MAST day at the Beach

On tuesday me and my homeport class (Dr.haun) went with group two to the beach which is very conveniently placed in front of the school. We spent the entire day there and saw many form of marine life, we also saw many species of flora, i was impressed with all the variation of plants in such a small area. While in the water i searched for different species of marine wildlife some of the most notable animals that i saw where: 3 leopard fish, an upsidedown jellyfish, a blue crab, a green shrimp, a pufferfish and a two very large crab claws. Another very cool experience that i had was able to eat a piece of a sea grape, it actually tasted good. The name of my partner which helped me look for animals in the ocean was Luanna she was very good and always was ready to put fish in the bucket or hold the bucket, i was very lucky to have a good partner like her. Me and Luanna actuallyhad a hardtime capturing the sea life one example was when two easily 4 pund weighing fish, not just any fish LEOPARD FISH passed by us i caught it with the net but they jumped out of the net and back in to their home, it was a huge waste since all the fish and animals were returned to the sea after we classified them. We also caught several crabs and many pipe fish also we caught a sea horse which was very cool. This experience was very amazing i had never seen most of the animals that me and my classmates caught. But the fact that i had this experience is great and for that i am very grateful.
Me posing for the camera while animals are being classified.
A pipe fish was one of the most commonly found fish in our group.
A green shrimp!! one of the weirder animals we caught.
Delicious sea grapes.
